Well, not "fresh" exactly, but I am at work. It's an approximately 30 minute bike ride from home to work, plus another half hour to shower and get cleaned up at the nearby university gym. I am riding on my new bike today - a modified hybrid Bridgestone. It's blue, beautiful, and pimped by my good friend, MP. Thanks MP!
So with that, I leave you with a pretty boring post. This is the second time I've seen someone overlay violent video games with violence, and then draw from it the conclusion that violent video games cannot be causing any increase in crime. (The other one was here). Needless to say, we should take these graphs with a grain of salt, since the period of time in which these violent movies come out may not be the same to the period of time before they came out. Nevertheless, how would you go about falsifying the hypothesis that violent video games cause violence if you were to use observational data, like this guy is doing? Maybe use variation in release dates within years? Not sure if that would work any better, but it seems like we need a shorter window of time to identify any possible effects, since all the FBI data is aggregated over a year.
