Put your prison in a bear habitat. (I'm trying to come up with something funny about incapacitation versus deterrence effects, but I realized even the best joke wouldn't be that funny, so I gave up.).
We once saw a baby bear. My wife and I were on a walk on a dirtroad near a bed and breakfast, and what did we see 50 yards ahead of us but a baby bear gallop across the road. My wife was 8 months pregnant, and we had to pass that spot to get back to the B&B, and all I could think of was what I was going to do when the mother bear came looking for that cub. I then realized I couldn't do anything, so we just went on our way. Of course, I was in an absolute panic the rest of the day.
