Mac Air Review

Ars Technica rolls up their sleeves and reviews the new thin Air. It's 7 or 8 pages long, so of course I did not read it, but I found one useful graph that I bet a million bucks summarizes everything for you (yes, Edward Tufte, you were right). So, in a nutshell, the Air is worse than a Macbook in every single way except for its weight. It's not like the Macbook weighs 10 pounds, anyway, so who would want this thing?

the only thing i can figure here is that the target market is high end techie users who have one or two other machines already meeting their vocational/educational/entertainment needs and just want something pretty to take down to starbucks and check email with . . . . doesn't seem like a very compelling reason for investing all the resources in a new product roll out however . . . . though it seems like apple has a history of rolling out products which are in effect aimed at their existing customer base, i.e the mac air is the technological equivalent of a band releasing a live album, pretty though.
