Open Street Map

Open Street Map. An open source map of the world, editable by anyone. Pretty cool - though I kind of thought it was a little redundant to google maps. Maybe not, though. Unlike google maps, this has an open source component allowing everyone to update the same map with interesting information. Still, is this not available through google maps?
