Conspiracy Theory and the Rate of Inflation

Menzie Chinn comments on Shadow Government Statistics - a site that claims the government, via the Bureau of Labor Statistics, cooks the numbers on the consumer price index so as to minimize the rate of inflation. I saw the site a few months ago, and so I'm posting this.
