What I'm Reading

1. Apple rumors are in full effect, with the general consensus that 3G iPhones are on the docket for today's Apple meeting. Speculation about pricing, 3G networks, cross-continent 3G compatibility, and a second device ("iPhone-lite") is on everyone's mind.

2. Elizabeth Pisani's The Wisdom of Whores: Bureaucrats, Brothels, and the Business of AIDS was released last week and is making the blog rounds. Mine is in the mail.

3. Henry Louis Gates, Jr. on the difference between "racism" and "racialism" as well as his opinion of Nobel Laureate, James Watson.

4. Story about John McCain's first wife, Carol McCain, who he divorced after a series of affairs upon his return from Vietnam.

5. I did my best.
